Jamaican Dancehall Sensation Beenie Man Denied Entry Into Canada For Contracting Incurable Virus That Was First Discovered In Uganda

The dreaded Zika virus that has threatened to derail 2016 Olympics was first discovered in the Zika forest in Uganda in 1947.

Zika virus is a mosquito-transmitted infection that caused deformity in newborn babies. There is no known cure for Zika virus though it can’t kill an adult but offspring of the infected persons will have deformity.

The International Olympics Committee speculated shifted the venue of 2016 Olympics after Brazil and host city, Rio de Janeiro, were severely affected by an outbreak of Zika virus.

The virus has since spread from South America to the Caribbean and parts of America. Jamaican dancehall superstar Beenie Man is among those that have been infected by Zika virus.

Beenie Man was denied Canadian visa after it was discovered that he had contracted the dreaded Zika virus.

The Jamaican was set to perform at Toronto’s OVO Fest over the last Saturday but he was forced to cancel his planned gig after he was denied entry into Canada.

“No visa fi mi Canada show. The same Zika mosquito gi mi dengue. Blood test, injections, pills. Wi a hol firm still.” Beenie Man posted on Instagram.
