Lack of children in the African setting is a major cause of breakups in marriages. Anne Kansiime’s marriage suffered the same fate.

Two days ago Kansiime announced that that her marriage had ended. The comedian announced the bad news on Facebook during Questions and Answers session with her fans.

Kansiime however refused to divulge why her marriage had crumbled. She says no one else is entitled to know why she split from her husband.

“OJ and I are not together anymore. Reasons why we are not are not for anyone else to know, but the two of us,” wrote Anne Kansiime on Facebook.

The comedian got married to her husband Gerald Ojok in a traditional wedding ceremony in 2013. Ojok and Kansiime were not blessed with a child for the four years they had been married.

Lack of children in their marriage is said to be the reason why Kansiime and Ojok decided to go their separate ways. The comedian was reluctant to give reasons for the breakup but close friends say Gerald Ojok’s relatives were pushing him to have children while Kansiime was more focused on her career.

The friction started years ago and finally reached the climax in 2017 when Kansiime and Ojok split. In an an interview with Capital FM’s Gaetano and Lucky in March 2016, Kansiime expressed her desire to conceive.

Kansiime stated that she was waiting for God’s time to have her own child. The comedian also said the pressure from other people was not any easy on her.

“I can’t wait to have a child and be mother. I have heard people saying that having a baby will affect my career and I pray it does, because I guess I will be a better artist when I experience that love,” Kansiime said this on the Over drive show Stripped on 91.3 Capital FM.

Rumors also has it that Kansiime is infertile. Multiple sources claim Uganda’s arguably best comedian had been trying to conceive since she got married in 2013.

The lack of children in Kansiime’s marriage is said to be the reason why Ojok opted to leave her. Kansiime raised eyebrows in October 2017 when she attended Salvador Idringi’s show at Imperial Royale Hotel.

Kansiime did not wear her wedding ring while attending Salvador’s show. Many people noticed her wedding ring was missing on her finger but Kansiime dismissed separation rumors.

The comedian only admitted Ojok and her had split two days ago while engaging her fans on Facebook.
